Sometimes I wonder if all the Greeks know about is statism. I admire Socrates for giving the world his elenchus, but I find it hard to admire Plato and Aristotle for bringing the idea of statism to the world. Plato's Republic was the basis of socialist thinking in the 17th and 18th centuries; it was also the basis of what would be communism and the Soviet Union. Is this all the Greeks know about? Are they too scared to try a free society for a change, with a completely unrestricted laissez-faire capitalist free market? Greece is a mess, but that is how the ones in power like it, and the people ask for it, and they get it. The Greeks are getting what they deserve, because they don't seem to know any better. They need to be exposed to Austrian Economics. They need to learn it in order to appreciate it and desire it. This would be the beginning of change.
It's been 31 years since the last dictatorship of Greece, and the country is falling apart. The socialist prime minister Costas Caramanlis cannot govern at all, there is an astronomical public debt, the indirect taxes are the highest in Europe, the political corruption is the highest in this universe and all parallel universes, judges fix trials, 300 minotaurs suck the blood of Greeks in the Greek parliament, 100 wild ayatollahs have transformed the Greek Orthodox Church to Sodoma and Gomora, terrorists of the 13N mafia terrorize the people with bombs and fires, and the cancer of socialism is spread all over Greece. Two socialist mafias have been ruling Greece these 31 years, Pasok and Nea Demokratia. The leader of Pasok, George Papandreou is the new leader of Socialist International. Democracy somehow cannot work in the cradle of democracy, because socialist rabblerousers manipulate the crazy masses who run amuck in the streets in the direction of the cliff. Even the glorified Athenian democracy killed Socrates, tried to kill Aristotle, and ostracized Themistocles. όλα ωραία και καλά μέχρι εδώ. και πώς να διαφωνήσεις, άλλωστε. αλλά...
